As Super Bowl 57 MVP, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes went to Disneyland to celebrate, along with his children.
Since Super Bowl 21, it has been a near-annual tradition for the MVP of the big game to decree “I’m going to Disney World” or “I’m going to Disneyland” when asked what they are going to do next. It began with New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms in 1987, and has now reached Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 2023.
On Sunday, the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl 57 to win their third Lombardi Trophy in franchise history, and their second in four years. Mahomes was named MVP after helping lead the team to a win despite trailing 24-14 at halftime and suffering an apparent ankle injury. After the game, Mahomes declared “I’m going to Disneyland.”
One day later, Mahomes was at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., along with his wife Brittany, daughter Sterling Skye, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

This is now the second time that Mahomes had visited a Disney resort after winning Super Bowl MVP. Back in 2020, Mahomes visited Disney World in Orlando, Fla. after the Chiefs overcame a 20-10 deficit to the San Francisco 49ers to win 31-20 in Super Bowl 54.
Mahomes joked during his postgame press conference that Disney will have to open up some more parks so he could do a world tour.
The first half was all Eagles, as they dominated the time of possession, clocking in at a little under 22 minutes. As for the Chiefs offense, they had the football for just eight minutes and watched as Mahomes appeared to tweak his ankle near the end of the second quarter. Mahomes did return for the second half, and he played as if he didn’t hurt his ankle, making plays through the air and on the run.
Mahomes led the Chiefs to points on all four of their drives in the second half, outscoring the Eagles 24-11. Mahomes threw two touchdown passes in the second half, one to Kadarius Toney and the other to Skyy Moore.
In the game, Mahomes completed 21-of-27 pass attempts for 182 yards and three touchdowns, while running for 44 yards and six carries. As a result of his heroics, he was named Super Bowl 57 MVP.
Less than 24 hours after hoisting the Lombardi Trophy on stage at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., Mahomes was at Disneyland celebrating with his family.
