As the NFL Scouting Combine starts, the entire NFL media is looking for the next storyline and most of the ones that arise during this part of the season are contract related, with team’s sometimes moving on from players that are due an extension.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, Tee Higgins, is approaching that point as he enters his fourth and final year of his rookie contract, but the franchise isn’t thinking about trading him, as Duke Tobin made clear in Indianapolis, adding he isn’t in the business of making other teams better.
I’m in the business of making the Cincinnati Bengals better, and so, trading Tee Higgins is not on my mind.”
He then went on to take a jab at the other NFL franchises looking to potentially snag one of his team’s great offensive weapons.
“That’s their problem. They want a receiver, go find your own. In my opinion, Tee Higgins is a good piece for the Cincinnati Bengals, so the trade stuff is a little ridiculous right now.”
RB Joe Mixon might not be with the Bengals next season
Duke Tobin also was asked about the future in the team of Bengals running back, Joe Mixon, but the director of player personnel, Duke Tobin, wasn’t as sure as he was with Higgins that he won’t be cut or traded before the star of the season, not before mentioning he’s been a vital part or their team.
“He’s been a successful part of our team. Again, I’m not gonna predict the offseason because I don’t have the answers. In the words of the great Kevin Malone (from TV’s The Office), ‘I don’t know,'” he expressed.
