What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
Growing up I was always athletic and loved sports and my parents also played sports as well so when I started playing football at the age of 7 I’ve been in love with it ever since.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
I would say my favorite moments were one back in high school where I had a pick six and a sack in the same game during my senior year and another one being from my redshirt freshman year in college where I got my first career sack in the second game of that season.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I’m looking to achieve greatness. I want to just continue to improve and learn as a football player in every aspect.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
I would have to say Von Miller, for one he’s one of the best pass rushers in the game right now and he’s also my favorite player.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My dad really inspires me a lot just because of the kind of man he is and how he raised me. I’m very fortunate to have a father that has made the sacrifices that he has made for me in my life and has always been there to steer me in the right direction.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
My favorite scheme would have to be a 3-4 defense where I’m lined up as an OLB because of my style of play and the ability I have to do multiple things on the field.
What should we know about Jacorey Johns the person?
Everyone should know about me as a person is that I’m a very easygoing/fun guy that’s going to always do the right thing.
What stands out about your film the most?
One thing that stands out in my film is my versatility. My ability to rush the passer as well as play in coverage and off the ball and play against the run is a very unique part of my game.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
I have the mindset that I’m going to always overcome any challenges that I face whether it’s on or off the field. I’m going to always make smart decisions and overcome any adversity.
What would a team get in a player like you?
Any team would get a guy that wants to and willing to compete at any role that I’m given. I’m very confident in my ability and will always put my best foot forward.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love the physicality of the sport in general, speaking from a defensive player’s perspective but also just how much the game of football can bring people from all different backgrounds together playing for each other and all playing towards the same goal.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
I would have to say Dion Bergan that played nose/DT for us as at Wake Forest. His ability to create havoc on the inside and takeaway gaps is next level. He was also the strongest player on our entire football team.
