Cowboys’ Micah Parsons jokes about switching positions to NFL’s most lucrative role

Micah Parsons, the versatile linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, has been making waves on and off the field lately. He’s been showing off his skills in various positions, from end to inside linebacker to even cornerback. But his latest desire seems to be his most outlandish yet – he wants to play quarterback.

“F*** it,” Parsons tweeted, “I’m switching to QB!”

While this may seem like a joke, it’s no secret that quarterbacks in the NFL are receiving huge contracts, with Derek Carr, Geno Smith, and Daniel Jones all signing massive deals just this week. And Parsons’ teammate in Dallas, Dak Prescott, is also in negotiations for a significant extension.

But while the quarterbacks are getting paid, Parsons is still playing under his rookie deal, which runs through the 2024 season. He’s set to earn $2.12 million in 2023 and $2.99 million in 2024, with the Cowboys having the option to extend his deal for 2025.

He will have his big money sooner than later

Parsons may have to wait for his real payday, but he’s clearly thinking about the money he could make elsewhere. As he put it, “I’m eyeing the bag.” And if you think that’s wild, just wait until you see what he’s holding back.

“Man, if y’all think I say some wild s*** on here,” he wrote, “I’m glad y’all don’t see the s***I really want to post lol.”

Parsons may be joking about playing quarterback, but his talent as a linebacker is no joke. In fact, he’s been making a name for himself as one of the best defensive players in the league. And when he’s ready for that extension, the Cowboys will surely have to pay up to keep him on their roster.

As Parsons himself said, “I know my worth.” And with his skills and personality, there’s no doubt he’ll get what he deserves.
