Man City Treble Odds – Can City Match Man United’s Historic Feat

Share

We have Man City treble odds for you as we look at the chances of Pep Guardiola’s side at winning a historic treble this season.

Man City Treble Odds

The odds on Man City winning the treble this season are 17/4. This would mean that Pep Guardiola’s team would have to win each of the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Man City are odd-on favourites to win all of these competitions (correct as of April 14th).

If you think that City will only be able to win any of these two competitions you can get odds of 5/4. Just the one trophy would be seen as a disappointment with realistic treble chance this late in the season and you can back that happening at odds of 7/4.

If you think that Man City’s jampacked schedule will count against them then you might have interest in the 15/2 odds on offer for Man City not to win a trophy at all this season.

There’s also some interesting options that present decent value if you think City can only land one trophy. Man City to just win the FA Cup can be had at 9/2, Guardiola’s men just winning the Premier League looks an attractive price at 6/1 while just a Champions League trophy, the one that Pep really wants can be backed at 8/1.

What English Teams Have Won The Treble?

Cities Cross-Town Rivals Manchester United are the first and to date the only side in English Football to achieve the elusive “Treble” which they did in the famous 1998-99 season by winning the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Today it is still argued by many as the biggest achievement of an English team. Since Manchester City were taken over by Sheikh Mansour in September 2008 the club has built itself up to be a force in English Football winning the FA Cup in the 2010-11 season and from that date winning a staggering 14 major trophies.

Man City Treble Chances

Manchester City has been such a consistent force across competitions that this is not the first time they have been touted as “Treble” or even “Quadruple” winners they were even quoted as short as 50/1 for the quadruple before a ball was kicked this season but a shock defeat to Southampton in the quarter-finals ended that dream in January.

Man City’s Path To A Champions League Title

Despite the end of the quad dream, the treble looks like a bigger prospect than arguably ever before they already have one foot in the Champions League Semi-Final after winning the first leg over Bayern Munich 3-0 with them highly fancied to finish the job in Germany on April 19.

If they do that they’ll face either Real Madrid or Chelsea for a place in the final, likely to be the former following their 2-0 first-leg win.

That is the one trophy that alludes to Manchester City in their recent dominance and one that Pep Guardiola has been accused of underachieving in throughout the years why the goal of a treble remains, don’t be surprised if they do prioritize that elusive European title if it comes to it.

Man City’s Path To An FA Cup Title

In the FA Cup, they will face Sheffield United in the Semi-Final on the 22nd of April for the chance of a Wembley Final date v either Brighton or their neighbours Manchester United who will want to make sure they stop City’s treble charge.

Man City’s Path To A Premier League Title

While they trail Arsenal by six points in the league, they have a game in hand and their task in one sense is very simple, win their remaining league matches and they will be Premier League Champions also for the third year in a row.

City’s next challenge comes against Premier League relegation-threatened Leicester on Saturday. Despite our earlier comments about Manchester City prioritizing European Glory ahead of the weekend Rodri has argued otherwise saying “We don’t value any competition over another. We are alive in all three — and will fight until the end for all of them”.

Man City Trophies Prediction

If they’re to replicate Manchester United’s 1998-99 team and become the second English side to scoop the lot they may have to win as many as 15 more matches within eight weeks.

It’ll be difficult but certainly isn’t impossible with the addition of freak striker Erling Haaland who could end up proving to be the final ace in the pack needed for City as his 45 Goals in 39 Games this season already trounces their top-scorer from last seasons total when Mahrez only got 25.

Prediction: Premier League Winners, Champions League Semi-Final, FA Cup Runners-Up

Best Bet: Manchester City to win only the Premier League @ 6/1
