During each of its previous iterations, the XFL has been a one-and-done league. It’s also given us some legitimate NFL players. The original 2001 version gave us Tommy Maddox. The 2020 version gave us Donald Parham. Which players from the 2023 version of the XFL might we see on Sundays this fall?

Can XFL Players Sign With NFL Teams?
Yes. While the XFL has an arrangement with the NFL regarding testing out rules and processes, the XFL’s goal is to be a standalone football league — it’s not trying to purely be a feeder for the NFL.
With that said, it’s hard to imagine the XFL ever being able to retain its top players. The NFL is the ultimate goal for all of these players. Outside of specific circumstances — such as a quarterback like A.J. McCarron preferring to be a starter in the XFL than a backup in the NFL — the significant increase in pay and prominence that comes with being on an NFL roster will inevitably result in nearly all of the XFL’s top guys signing with NFL teams.
