Napoli have reportedly made the first concrete offer to replace Kim Min-Jae, as they bid for Kevin Danso. Coach Rudi Garcia is reportedly a proponent of the signing as he closely followed the defender during his time in Ligue 1.
The Partenopei tendered €22M, while the counterparty’s request is higher, Foot Mercato reports. The French outfit would like €30M to part ways with the Austrian international.
On the other hand, Napoli have already struck a deal on personal terms with Danso. If he joined, he’d earn €3M annually for the next four years. He’s been playing for Les Sang et Or since 2021 after getting his start in Germany with Augsburg and a loan spell at Southampton. He featured 13 times internationally.
The 24-year-old isn’t the only option in the Partenopei’s crosshairs. They recently inquired about a new one, Sporting CP’s touted prodigy Gonçalo Inacio. They were met with a €30M request, though, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays (via SportdelSud).
Our Take on Napoli and Danso
They might have to spend more than they’d like for a really reliable and still young-ish center-back. Some of the players on their radar are well worth the investment as they would hold down the fort for several years, including the Lens star.
